Food Quality AwardsThe TimesIn March 2008 we were the top-placed Yorkshire business in the 'Times Top 35 Best Vegbox Schemes' (unfortunately they list us under 'North West' rather than 'North East'!) Rick Stein's Food Heroes"Food Heroes are the producers of traditional cheeses, unusual fruit and vegetables, local breads and well-produced meat, poultry and fish. The Food Heroes directory helps you locate food heroes near you" In 2002 Rick Stein put together a directory detailing growers and producers of seriously good food, and we were thrilled to be one of his Food Heroes (especially as we were one of only five producers in the North East to be included) BBC Radio 4 Good Food Awards"These awards, in partnership with BBC Local Radio, were created in 2000 to celebrate the people and organisations who produce and promote the best of British food" In 2000 we were runners-up in the very first BBC Radio 4 Good Food Awards in the Small Retailer of the Year category, presented by HRH Prince Charles, himself an organic farmer at Highgrove in Gloucestershire. Also in that year, we supplied produce to the Winner of the Best Farm Shop in the Organic Food Awards, to a Highly Commended Retailer, and to a Commended Home Delivery Service In 2001, one of our long-standing customers won the award that we just missed the previous year. In October 2002, lots more of our customers were placed in the Organic Food Awards, and we are very proud to be associated with such successful businesses. The categories are: Joint Winner of the Local Food Initiative Award, Winner of Best Farm Shop, Winner of Best Small Shop, Highly Commended Retailer and Commended Retailer, Highly Commended Box Scheme and Commended Box Scheme - well done to all of you!
