NEWS:

Mar 08: Goosemoor wins Best Green Business award!

Mar 08: Goosemoor is the only Yorkshire supplier in Times Top 35!

Feb 08: check out Where does the produce come from?

Jan 08: What is the difference between Organic eggs and Free-Range?

Affordable ways to get your weekly organic food...

Are you fed up with over-packaged, over-priced, over-travelled, chemically-contaminated vegetables in supermarkets?

Are you looking for a wide range of fresh, locally-grown organic vegetables, salads and herbs delivered to your door?

If so, then a Goosemoor vegebox might be just what you're looking for.....

What's in a VegeBox?

VegeBoxes contain at least 5 different veg (more in summer) at a fixed price: £3 with 2-5kg produce, £5 containing 3-7kg, or £10 containing 5-11kg.

The deal is essentially that you get organic produce in small quantities at affordable prices, as long as you have what you're given (although we can take into account your particular dislikes or dietary needs).

The contents of the boxes vary according to season, but for example in September we have a selection from:

Potato

Spinach                    Tomato

Carrot

Cauli                           Lettuce

Onion

Cabbage                 Mixed Leaf

Beetroot

Calabrese                 Cucumber

Swede

French Bean Celery

Fennel

Runner Bean Pepper

Leek

Mushroom Courgette

Chinese Leaf

Garlic Herbs

What's in a Fruit Box?

Goosemoor Fruit Boxes come in multiples of £3 and contain a seasonal selection of apples, bananas, pears, citrus, & kiwis, with melons, mangoes, grapes and soft fruits available in the larger boxes.

What if I want to choose my own fruit & veg?

Unfortunately we don't have a farm shop where you can browse and choose your own produce - but we do have a great email-based choice system which we call 'Pick of the Crop'.

What Groceries are available?

There’s also a huge range of over 2500 organic groceries available, including dairy produce, fresh bread from £1.50 for a large wholewheat loaf, and eggs from £2.80/doz.  We will automatically include a copy of the Grocery ShortList if you request an information pack from us

Goosemoorganics is dedicated to reducing food-miles and reconnecting consumers with the source of their food.  By supporting Goosemoor you are voting for sustainable agriculture and a healthier future for all

Placing an order

Vegeboxes: Standards & Specials

Decide what size VegeBox and Fruit Box you need.

If there are particular items that you do not want in your fruit or vegebox, you can specify them each time you order.  For example if you ask for a special £5 vegebox with no potatoes, we will replace the potatoes with another item of similar value.  (If the item you excluded was not included anyway then we will send you a standard box.)

Pick of the Crop

If you prefer to choose your own fruit and veg rather than having a vegebox, you can order exactly what you want from our weekly 'Pick of the Crop' price list

Groceries

Our main grocery lines include bread, eggs, milk, cheese, hummus, and apple juice.  They are listed on our 'Pick of the Crop' price list.  The wider range of groceries is available as our 'Grocery Popu-List'

Regular Orders

There is no commitment to have an order every week - but if you prefer you can have a standing order each week - but please remember to tell us when you go on holiday!

When & how to order

Vegebox orders for delivery to your address can be placed on-line, left on our 24 hour answering machine (01423 358887), sent by fax (01423 358887) or by  email.  We need your order by 8am two working days prior to delivery.

Vegebox orders for delivery to a coordinator should be placed with the coordinator, giving them enough time to get their order to us 2 working days before delivery.

'Pick of the Crop' orders should be emailed or faxed back to us on the 'Pick of the Crop' order form.  Sorry but we don't take 'Pick of the Crop' orders over the phone

Delivery Arrangements

Qualifying for free delivery to your address

If you live locally, our minimum order is only £5 for free delivery.  Local villages include Bickerton, Bilton-in-Ainsty, Boston Spa, Cattal, Clifford, Cowthorpe, Green Hammerton, Hunsingore, Kirk Hammerton, Long Marston, Rufforth & Tockwith.

Elsewhere, if your fruit & veg order exceeds £15 and you are within our delivery area (broadly-speaking Yorkshire), we will deliver direct to your address.

We charge extra (£3 or £5) for delivery to areas more than 20 miles away or not on an existing delivery run.  Free delivery areas include Harrogate, Leeds & York.  If there is a delivery charge we will tell you when you order.

No minimum order if you join an existing group

If you order via our network of coordinators you can order as little as half a dozen eggs - the coordinator will include your order with their own for you to collect from their premises (and some coordinators do offer home-delivery for an extra charge).

Contact us to find out your nearest coordinator.  You should both order and pay via your coordinator rather than direct with us, so that your coordinator knows exactly what is going to be delivered.  Coordinators may ask for your payment in advance, as we expect them to pay us on delivery.

Starting a new group

We welcome new groups within our existing delivery area.  Follow the link if you would like to become a coordinator.

What day will the delivery be?

We deliver on the same day each week.  Generally we need your order 2 days prior to the day of delivery:

DELIVERY DAY AREA COVERED ORDER BY:
Wednesday Bradford, Harrogate, Huddersfield, Ripon, Sheffield, Thirsk, Yorkshire Dales Monday 8am
Thursday Leeds, Selby, Tadcaster, Wetherby, York,  local villages   Tuesday 8am

Please check with us before placing your first order, as our delivery vans are generally fairly full.

What if I am not going to be in for the delivery?

Just tell us a safe and weatherproof place to leave your produce.  We are happy to hold keys to porches, garages etc (we label them with a code rather than your address for security purposes).

Payment

Payment is due on delivery, and our drivers accept cash, or cheques payable to Goosemoor Organics

If you are not in, you can either leave a cheque for the driver to collect or post one to us following delivery.  We don't recommend that you leave cash for us to collect, but if you do, then the driver will acknowledge the amount received on your invoice.

Alternatively, you can pay securely by Nochex or Paypal over the internet (no account is necessary with either, but if not then you need a credit or debit card).  We don't currently take card payments by phone

Keeping you informed

We produce several newsletters throughout the year for distribution to all customers, and others periodically just for coordinators.  We frequently include recipes, and welcome favourites sent in by customers.

Problems

All items are unconditionally guaranteed, and we'll refund or replace anything found unsatisfactory without question.  Please tell us if you have any difficulties at all!

Thank you for helping our VegeBox scheme to be a success!
